The Small Business Association for Technology (SBAT) is a non-profit, non-partisan industry association of U.S. companies dedicated to protecting and promoting the growth of technology-based small businesses in the government procurement marketplace. Our mission is to keep members informed on legislative and regulatory issues that impact them and through strategic leadership advocate for their success. With nationwide membership and offices located in Northern Virginia, close to Capitol Hill, SBAT is a recognized voice in Congress for advancing small business technology initiatives and influencing the formation and implementation of public policy issues that involve our diverse constituents. In addition, SBAT is governed by an appointed Board of Directors that actively instructs and engages its membership to take action when issues relate to their businesses. SBAT's Objectives To increase the market share in the government technology market for small businesses in technology; To streamline the procurement regulatory requirements in order to increase competition in the small business community; To advocate and promote small businesses in technology to Executive Managers in Federal agencies; To educate the small business community about converting full and open size bids to small business classification bids. In order to continue to influence positive change technology-based small businesses must make their voices heard. It is for this reason that SBAT finds it imperative that small businesses organize and coalesce as one voice to ensure that opportunities to government contracts for small business continue to exist and grow in our nation.
